The lamps have higher light output with lower cost than LEDs and are available in any color. Lamp sizes range from T-3/8 to T-4, and AT-1 to AT-2, with bulb diameters from 0.75 mm to 15 mm. Operating voltages are 110 V, 220 V, and 1 V to 70 V. Base types include wire terminal, insulated wire lead, bi-pin, flanged, screw, midget grooved,
neowedge, bayonet and metal cap.
To ensure durability and long life, all subminiature lamps undergo burn-in (aging) and a battery of tests including vibration, shock, vacuum and atmospheric resistance. Complete subminiature
